Man my feet still hurt a day later. And I don’t think I got sick, yet anyway. But this was the third year in a row I attended the CABDA Midwest Dealer bike show in the suburbs of Chicago. And each time I went with the purpose to find and document any XC bikes, content, discussions, etc. that I could find. I must admit, based on what I saw yesterday, from a bike shop perspective, e-monsters (most really look little like any bicycle I can think of) really are the future. What started as one single row out of roughly 7 being e-bike related, was now a full 2.5 to 3. And like you’d expect, most were huge, asian made beasts. You know, the same ones you see on your “bike” path and shake your head as they go flying by.
I’m editing the hours of video I took and will summarize it all in a couple of videos soon. The bottom line though, XC bikes, XC racing, they are a tiny micro-niche of the bike industry. And likely getting smaller by the year.
