I think we need to all take a fresh look at what happened in Switzerland last year. Americans won both Mens and Womens races? Against the very best long distance XC racers in the world.
That was incredibly awesome. 125kkm is not exactly a casual ride in the park either, and 15,000 feet of climbing? Wow. On top of all that, it looked way rougher and gnarly than any marathon World’s race that I recall. This was a real, old school cross country mountain bike race and course.
Kate Courtney and Keegan really do deserve massive credit and publicity for this one. So if you’re bored, go ahead and watch this one again, Pink Bike and the UCI both have videos on youtube.
I’m going to watch this again, again, during my upcoming horribly boring indoor ride.
