Is this the beginning of the end of a great career? I hope not. But if anyone might move on I can see Jolanda doing just that. She had a great run, winning every title, some more than once. So hats off to her.
But maybe she can have one last run at glory next year. I must admit, I don’t think I’ve ever heard of a breathing disorder that requires learning to breathe again? It’s an odd one for sure. She has stated she originally thought it was her lungs, and having had covid three times, she damaged herself. But I do believe her final diagnosis was not a lung issue at all, but her vocal cords or something up higher.
Now, that does leave a slot open and Sina Frei was next in line. Keller and Frei are a nice pair, and with the way Keller has been racing this year, at least one of those 2 are likely to be a medal winner.
We’ll know in 2 short weeks.
